Excerpts from "Selena Ballerina"

January can be dreary. February too
March winds blow in April showers,
But then May brought us you
Sunshine covered all with gold
Moon with silver hue
The stars broke out into a smile
And light shone out from you
"I wonder what she'll grow to be?"
I heard Daddy say
He hugged you closely to his heart
And Mommy knelt to pray
"Dear God, who made the moon and stars,
what should be her name?"
"Selena", came the swift reply
"And she will grow to fame"

...and the ending
"Amazing" Daddy said
And Mommy said "Hurray!
What a transformation
We have seen today.

Our clumsy child is gone, she's a lady now.  We're really proud of you.  Selena, take a bow!
